Service Description
Fight to-for-over the gun is a two day course covering weapon retention and concepts of disarming Bad Guys/Drunk Uncle Fester. Training gear can cause great amounts of stress on holsters and belts. This stress can damage gear and void warranties. Through generous donations from two major holster manufactures we will provide each student a holster from either Tenicor or PHLster and a Glock 17 training gun. If you have your own dedicated training belt, holster, and blue gun feel free to use that. Day 1: we will focus on weapon retention in and out of the holster both staying and grounded. We’ll work on two techniques to keep our guns in their holster from multiple angles standing and grounded; a cover down technique and an elbow pin. We also have two techniques for our out of holster retention; an alternating two handed grip and the thumb pectoral index. Day 2: we will review our weapon retention skills from Day 1 and then transition to our concepts of disarming Bad Guys. We will focus on the following concepts: 1) Stay behind the gun 2) Control the weapon bearing limb (WBL), if possible keep the gun in the waistband, pocket or hoody. If the gun has been presented, control the gun. 3) Ground the BG ASAP 4) If attempting a disarm, control the weapon bearing limb 5) If deadly force is necessary, consider staying entangled and causing diminishment to the BG vs creating space and acquiring your gun. We will cover the wrist lace technique and how we can use it to control the WBL and assist in the takedown.
