Minnesota Fight to-for-over the gun
Service Description
Here’s the course description for a LE class: Day 1: we will focus on weapon retention in and out of the holster both standing and grounded. We’ll work on two techniques to keep our guns in their holster from multiple angles standing and grounded; a cover down technique and an elbow pin. We also have two techniques for our out of holster retention; an alternating two handed grip and the thumb pectoral index. Day 2: we will review our weapon retention skills from Day 1 and then transition to our concepts of disarming Bad Guys block. We will focus on the following concepts: 1) Stay behind the gun. 2) Control the weapon bearing limb (WBL), if possible keep the gun in the waistband, pocket or hoody. If the gun has been presented, control the gun. 3) Ground the BG ASAP. 4) If attempting a disarm, control the weapon bearing limb. 5) If deadly force is necessary, consider staying entangled and diminish the BG vs creating space. We will cover the wrist lace technique and how we can use it to control the WBL and assist in the takedown. We will also add in team tactics and possibly dealing with off body carry options. Through a generous donation from Blue Link Heating and Cooling formerly GMS Heating & Cooling, we will provide each student a duty belt (there is a limited number of each belt size), a Safariland, Blackhawk or Alien Gear holster, a Glock 17 training gun and a radio pouch. If you have your own dedicated training belt, holster, and training gun feel free to use that. Please email me the following: -Waist size: current waist size in inches -Holster: Right or Left
